Watercolor is a versatile medium that can glow like no other. I am a purist with water color. The white must be the white of the paper - no opaques. I love the brilliance of the Quinacridone colors and always use them as they are or bleed them into other colors on the paper to punch them up. All paints must be transparent to take advantage of the white of the paper. That is the beauty of watercolor - the back light of the paper creates the glow.
